Process cooling solutions from Pfannenberg

Pfannenberg has expanded its portfolio of process cooling solutions with the EB 2.0 and EB XT series of recooling systems. The 2.0 series with cooling capacities from 3.2 to 16 kW is a further development of the existing 'EB' series, while the 'XT' series with cooling capacities from 36 to 150 kW is a completely new development that is available in nine unit variants and three sizes. According to the manufacturer, the use of microchannel heat exchangers as condensers results in a particularly efficient, compact and corrosion-resistant solution in the 'XT' series. The condenser requires 50 % less installation space than comparable tube or finned condensers, uses around half as much cooling liquid and is around 60 % lighter. An electronically controlled expansion valve enables precise pressure regulation in the limit power ranges as well as higher efficiency due to optimized evaporation properties. The use of electronically commutated motors (EC motors) and speed-controlled fans reduce the energy consumption of the XT chillers. The scroll compressor used also reduces energy consumption compared to comparable piston compressors and at the same time reduces the sound pressure level. Temperature, pressure, fill level and status values can be monitored and controlled via a digital display on the front. Information is output via plain text on the controller. Users can carry out software updates via USB or the Internet. The recooling systems are able to communicate via all common fieldbus protocols.
