With the current Simotics XP generation, Siemens offers a platform concept for all explosion-protected low-voltage motors. The platform, based on the Simotics modular system, covers all types of ignition protection in zones 1 in Ex db eb (0.25 to 460 kW), Ex eb (0.25 to 165 kW) and Ex ec (0.25 to 1000 kW). Standardized selection and engineering tools as well as uniform documentation, which can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements, simplify and shorten the project process. The motor design is available across all ignition protection types in efficiency class IE3. By using digital twins, Simotics XP becomes part of the digital company by creating a digital image of the real system with all its components. The findings from this can be used throughout the entire life cycle. Information can be displayed using the Simotics Digital Data App with the data matrix code applied to the nameplate, which contains individual technical data, certificates and spare parts lists for the respective engine.
