Isra Vision takes over Photonfocus
Isra Vision, a provider of surface inspection solutions for web materials and 3D machine vision applications, has acquired the Swiss company Photonfocus. The company is thus expanding its strategic portfolio in the field of embedded sensor technology.
The specialized sensor technologies and development expertise for embedded systems with integrated intelligence from Photonfocus will be incorporated into new products and product generations from Isra Vision in the short term and open up additional market potential in the field of factory automation. The focus here is on linking 3D machine vision expertise with robot automation, both in markets such as the automotive industry and in industries with discrete manufacturing in general.
Photonfocus has been developing sensor modules for industrial image processing with high speed requirements on the basis of a modular architecture for almost two decades. Current developments focus, for example, on the use of 3D technology for industrial applications and hyperspectral sensor technology. The purchase price for 100% of the shares is just above the annual turnover of Photonfocus, which is in the high single-digit million range.
The merger with Photonfocus and its approximately 50 employees is the next step in the expansion of the business with Industry 4.0 components and embedded products. According to the company, further acquisitions by Isra are already in preparation.
