In the run-up to the Vision trade fair in Stuttgart (8.11. to 10.11.), the VDMA referred to the excellent figures for industrial image processing in Germany: 2015 saw record sales and the industry's growth is set to continue unabated this year.

Broken down by sector, the automotive industry remains the strongest customer worldwide, accounting for 22% of total sales. Sales of industrial image processing increased by 9% in 2015. Following the sharp decline in 2011, sales in the sector have grown continuously and in 2015 exceeded the record level of that year. The electrical electronics industry - including semiconductors - was the second-largest customer with a share of just under 13%.
