The 'Big Data Business Club'

Creating a central big data platform: This is the goal that 28 Fraunhofer Institutes have set themselves. The 'Big Data Business Club' is intended to promote exchange between business and science.

IT decision-makers are faced with the challenge of finding their way around the still largely unstructured big data landscape, finding suitable technologies and transferring them into specific applications.

"The Big Data Business Club gives IT decision-makers the opportunity to develop new digitalization strategies and business models with big data in an exchange with experts from all sectors," explains Dr. Dirk Hecker, Managing Director of the Fraunhofer Big Data Alliance.

The Fraunhofer Big Data Alliance brings together the expertise of 28 institutes in the field of big data. With the recently founded 'Big Data Business Club', the alliance wants to offer IT managers a platform to get in touch with decision-makers and big data researchers. The aim is to create a nationwide network.

However, the 'Big Data Business Club' is not only intended for networking purposes: Each company will be assigned a personal contact from the Fraunhofer Big Data Alliance to assist them with technical questions and ideas for specific projects. The participating Fraunhofer Institutes also advise on strategic project planning, provide technology screenings and best-practice applications and arrange contacts with key figures from science, politics and business. With its Big Data training program, the Fraunhofer Big Data Alliance also has experience in the training and recruitment of Big Data specialists and is also available to advise the participating companies in this area.
