Hannover Messe 2024
Norway is partner country 2024
Norway is the official partner country of Hannover Messe 2024. Under the motto "Pioneering the Green Industrial Transition", Norway will present products and solutions from its leading industries, including CCS, hydrogen, battery technology, AI and machine learning.
With a special focus on clean energy and Industry 4.0, the Hannover Messe will showcase companies that demonstrate Norway's ambitions for a low-carbon society and its key role in developing the solutions needed for industrial transformation and achieving net zero.
"Norway's highly skilled workforce, advanced industry and energy technology, and high levels of trust and stability make us an important partner in the green transition and one of the most attractive countries in the world to do business," says Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre. "We look forward to showcasing the Norwegian way of doing business and highlighting what Norway has to offer."
Norway will be represented with a country pavilion in Hall 12 (Energy Solutions) and a pavilion specifically dedicated to hydrogen in Hall 13. The country pavilion will focus on clean energy and Industry 4.0, with players such as Statkraft, Equinor, Yara, Siemens and Morrow Batteries. Together, Norwegian companies will demonstrate the key role of Norwegian industry in the green transition with products and solutions from sectors such as hydrogen, CCS, AI and machine learning, digital infrastructure, batteries and charging infrastructure as well as minerals and materials technology.
Norway's role as a partner for the green transition
Norway is fully integrated into the European Single Market through the EEA Agreement, so trade and investment flows seamlessly between Norway, Germany and the rest of the European Union. Norway and Germany are important trading partners and have entered into a strategic partnership in the areas of climate, renewable energy and green industry to work even more closely together on the green transition.
Norway is internationally recognized as a reliable energy producer and combines its rich industrial heritage with a skilled workforce, advanced technologies and a stable environment. These factors make Norway an attractive partner for the global green transition and a favorable location for business.
Norway is a leader in sustainable technologies and innovation, particularly in renewable energy, electromobility and green infrastructure, according to Hannover Messe. Notable examples include the Longship project, the world's first large-scale carbon capture and storage project, the MF Hydra project, which unveiled the world's first liquid hydrogen-powered ferry, and Yara's construction of the world's first clean, ammonia-powered container ship. Norway also has the highest penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) in the world and has a high level of expertise in battery applications for land and sea transportation.
