© Hahn GroupHahn Digital and Erium are jointly developing an offering for analytics use cases in manufacturing processes. This is initially aimed at the healthcare sector and can later be extended to the automotive, electronics and consumer goods industries.
The two companies' approach is based on closed control loops based on artificial intelligence to calculate recommendations for action in the areas of availability and productivity to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). As the algorithms describe not only the system but also the manufactured product, this enables predictions to be made about product quality in particular.
Erium's approach offers the advantage that even small amounts of data are sufficient for carrying out analyses. Hahn Digital's industry knowledge and the specialist knowledge of experts and engineers are integrated into the statistical model that maps the physical process. This enables companies to gain insights more quickly. Process parameters can be defined more precisely through data analysis. With the help of machine parameters and the detection of anomalies, maintenance activities are also triggered at an early stage, which enables targeted maintenance as required in the long term and avoids longer downtimes due to repairs.
First projects in the healthcare sector
The healthcare sector in particular benefits from the analysis of process and quality parameters, which means that the causes of errors in the injection molding process can be identified more quickly. Systematic statistical test planning is used to optimize the start-up time and reduce the effort required to adjust filling processes, for example. As closed AI-based control loops for existing processes often require process recertification, it is worth equipping production systems with sensors and analytics tools from the outset. In the long term, the plant will provide the operator with information about the causes of errors, optimization potential and settings that can be optimized. Initial projects are already underway
"Process analysis and optimization is becoming increasingly important, especially for manufacturing companies," explains Uziel Zontag, Managing Director of Hahn Digital.

Translating Smart Factory into a decisive competitive advantage for our customers is the key to meeting the increasing demands in terms of market maturity and quality assurance," explains Uziel Zontag, Managing Director of Hahn Digital. "The combination of our deep understanding of digital manufacturing and Erium's extensive expertise in process optimization enables us to support our customers with powerful AI. We look forward to working together."
Dr. Theo Steininger, founder and CEO of Erium, adds: "The partnership was a logical step for us. The Hahn Group's systems are excellently suited for the use of machine learning due to the existing technical possibilities. At the same time, Hahn Digital is the ideal point of contact with the Group, as Hahn Digital is at home in both worlds - both in digitalization technology and in automation technology. These are ideal conditions for joint growth."
