DigiKey supports direct shipping within Europe
The distributor DigiKey now enables European suppliers to deliver directly to European customers via its marketplace program.
European companies using the DigiKey marketplace now have the opportunity to extend their reach to other European countries. The distributor offers European companies a direct shipping option in the region. The advantage is that the products do not have to be transported to the US facilities and then shipped back to Europe. This reduces transportation costs, time and environmental impact. Shipments sent within Europe usually arrive the next day and not within several days as was previously the case.
As products no longer need to be shipped outside Europe, more types of products can be sold, including lithium batteries, heavy automation equipment, chemicals and adhesives, solar products and more.
Approximately 30,000 items are currently approved for this program, but the number continues to grow. DigiKey continues to handle the entire transaction.
