Green building as EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp
Delta, a provider of energy management and intelligent green solutions, is expanding its presence in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). A state-of-the-art regional headquarters will be built in Hoofddorp near Amsterdam by the end of 2026.
The approximately 9300 square meter building is located in the sustainability-oriented business campus Park 20|20. Delta plans to house over 350 employees from Research & Development, Business Development, Management and other areas. The energy-efficient building is aiming for BREEAM 'Outstanding' certification and is set to achieve net-zero energy thanks to smart building technology.
Dalip Sharma, President and General Manager of Delta Electronics EMEA, emphasizes the strategic importance: "The new building of our regional headquarters is an expression of our strong commitment to the EMEA region and to Hoofddorp. The location is strategically ideal - in close proximity to key customers, partners and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the unrivaled gateway to the European market. In addition, the choice of Park 20|20 fits perfectly with Delta's ESG values. The Haarlemmermeer region offers access to a highly skilled, multilingual talent pool. In addition, we benefit from a dynamic international business environment. These are all crucial factors for Delta's long-term growth and diverse business activities."
The new office building will offer around 350 modern workstations on five floors. A central atrium will channel daylight deep into the interior of the building. Modern laboratory areas, advanced conference rooms, a showroom for presenting the latest Delta technologies and zones for creative work and relaxation are planned. A climate ceiling system will provide draught-free radiant heating and cooling. The building will also offer 126 underground parking spaces and charging stations for Delta's electric vehicles - to support low-carbon mobility for employees.
Energy efficiency as a central element
Around 715 solar panels will be installed on the roof of the green building, which will generate over 335,500 kWh of electricity per year - enough to cover the entire energy requirement. Delta is pursuing the goal of net-zero energy consumption. The concept is complemented by energy-efficient architecture, connection to Park 20|20's central geothermal heat pump system and a separate energy storage system (ESS) from Delta.
