The devices were developed for applications with high peak current requirements and supply an additional 50 % of the nominal current for 10 s in order to handle peak loads. The power supply units also offer an efficiency of up to 92 %. They can be operated convection-cooled at temperatures from -25 to +70 °C without derating. In addition, the devices are designed to withstand even strong vibrations, for example in the vicinity of diesel generators. The products are protected against moisture by a protective coating as standard. PT570 (250 W) and PT571 (125 W) are based on baseplate technology, while PT577 (250 W) and PT576 (125 W) are designed as DIN rail devices. Depending on the application, different protection mechanisms may be required: For the four power supply units, three different modes can be selected via a DIP switch: shutdown mode, hicup mode or constant current mode. All devices can be operated without load and have overcurrent and overvoltage protection as well as overtemperature protection.
