Weidmüller
CC-Link certification for modular I/O system
Weidmüller has received the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) certificate for its modular I/O system 'u-remote'. This makes u-remote the first modular I/O system with official CC-Link IE safety certification for CC-Link IE TSN.
The interface opens up new possibilities for machine builders and automation engineers to integrate systems into networks with the CC-Link-IE-TSN standard. By supporting Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), CC-Link-IE-TSN enables deterministic data transmission and promotes the convergence of different networks within a system. According to Weidmüller, the integration of CC-Link-IE-TSN technology in u-remote makes it easy to implement modular, fine-grained system architectures. Users benefit from the flexible integration of distributed I/O modules into existing automation networks without having to compromise on performance or safety. Another advantage is the use for functionally safe applications: If, for example, a light barrier is interrupted, u-remote transmits the signal directly to the safety controller via a so-called 'black channel'. This reacts immediately, for example by stopping a process or initiating defined protective measures. The system therefore fulfills the central safety requirements of modern machine guidelines and safety standards.
The certified communication technology ensures safety-compliant operation of the system. The modular I/O architecture enables the construction of complex systems, which simplifies the commissioning and maintenance of such machinery. Thanks to the international distribution of CC-Link, Weidmüller also offers machine builders increased planning security for export projects.
