"Phoenix Digital's secure fiber optic modules are an excellent addition to our portfolio of high-quality communication solutions in the Industrial segment. We are thus expanding the transmission media we offer for industrial control systems to include optical processes with optical fibers," says Dr. Wolfgang Trier, CEO of Softing AG, adding: "This further strengthens Softing's IIoT solutions in the upper performance segment and opens up new markets for us." Softing expects the acquisition to generate additional revenue of up to EUR 3 million annually in the coming years.

Automation applications in the oil & gas, mining, chemical, water & wastewater and general infrastructure sectors were the typical target segments for PDC.
