On February 8, 2019, Aktion Plagiarius e.V. "awarded" the negative "Plagiarius" prize to brazen counterfeiters and their sales partners for the 43rd time. The counterfeit products include consumer goods as well as two industrial components.
In addition to the three main prizes, this year's Plagiarius campaign also presented six other equally prestigious "awards" - for example to the Chinese company Zhejiang Hongchen Auto Parts Co Manufacturing.
This company counterfeited the electric coolant pump 'CWA 200' (left in the original) and was successfully sued by Rheinmetall Automotive, to which the spare parts specialist MS Motorservice from Neuenstadt belongs, for patent infringement and slavish imitation. Investigations have shown that the counterfeit is inefficient and the electronics are defective. If the pump fails, the engine overheats and serious consequential damage can occur.
