New series in IP67 connector family from Conec Electronic Components
© Conec Elektronische Bauelemente

The IP67 USB 3.0 series is part of Conec's IP67 connector family. Integrated into the Conec housing with bayonet locking, the USB 3.0 connectors are particularly suitable for industrial applications. The bayonet lock ensures a robust connection in accordance with IP67 and thus guarantees protection against environmental influences in harsh environments. USB 3.0 type A is fully plug-compatible with USB 2.0 type A. The type A USB 3.0 plugs and sockets accept all type A plugs of the lower USB version. A USB 2.0 type B or type Micro B plug can be plugged into the USB 3.0 type B and type Micro B sockets; the other way round is not compatible due to the size. The difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 is that an additional signal pair enables full-duplex data transmission, i.e. USB 3.0 can read and write data simultaneously at maximum speed. Another improvement of USB 3.0 is the increased maximum power: with USB 3.0, up to six devices can be operated with up to 150 mA each - a total load of 900 mA. The connector series is available in plastic and metallized plastic.
