Connectors according to IEC 63171

Yamaichi Electronics offers Y-SPE, a new series of connectors for Industrial Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) in accordance with IEC 63171.

The series initially includes both IP20 sockets and M12 sockets with IP67 protection. They are suitable for mounting on printed circuit boards in accordance with IEC standards 63171-2 and 63171-6. To ensure an additional power supply, the connectors offer the option of using Power over Data Line (PoDL) - similar to Power over Ethernet (PoE). According to Yamaichi, the limit here is around 60 W. As the transmission now only runs via two contacts instead of four, the connectors are smaller in size. Only the two existing wires are required for use. If a customer-specific design is preferred instead of a standard-compliant design, the customer can be supported in the implementation. There is a free choice of standardized systems for the connectors.
