SPS - Smart Production Solutions 2025 has once again confirmed its importance as the central meeting place for the automation industry. From November 25 to 27, around 56,000 trade visitors (2024: 51,300 visitors) came to Nuremberg to find out about the latest developments and trends in smart and digital automation. 1175 exhibitors (2024: 1114 exhibitors) presented their solutions in 15 exhibition halls and offered a comprehensive overview of the industry's technological progress.

The trade fair once again proved to be a place for professional exchange and practical insights. Visitors took advantage of live demonstrations, presentations and personal discussions to learn about new technologies and experience concrete application examples. "SPS offers the industry a reliable platform for direct dialog and joint further development," explained Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Vice President SPS at Mesago Messe Frankfurt.

One focus this year was on the use of artificial intelligence in industrial processes. Numerous companies presented applications - from AI-based quality inspection to adaptive control systems and smart maintenance concepts. It became clear how AI is increasingly becoming part of everyday industrial life and providing further impetus for future solutions. "AI opens up new possibilities and is already supporting many applications today," emphasized Marcus Bliesze from Siemens.

In addition to AI, the lecture program offered in-depth insights into other automation topics on several stages. Formats such as "Meet the Speaker" facilitated a direct exchange with experts. The joint stand "Automation meets IT" as well as the Start-up Area and the presentations by young companies showed how closely traditional automation and modern IT are now growing together. The guided tours of SmartFactory KL and a special tour on control cabinet construction were also very popular.

Another focus was the promotion of young talent: at the SPS Makeathon, young talents worked on real industrial tasks, while the Young Talents Day provided additional offers such as career advice, guided tours and a rally.

A detailed analysis of the trade fair will be published at the beginning of 2026. The next SPS will take place in Nuremberg from November 24 to 26, 2026.

The community also remains networked outside of the trade fair days: The SPS Automation Hub, the monthly Technology Talks, SPS Insights and the Industrial Technology Summits in May and June 2026 will continue to offer an exchange of ideas and up-to-date information about the automation industry.

The next SPS will take place from November 24 - 26, 2026.
