On August 22, the power module manufacturers Danfoss Silicon Power and Semikron merged to form the new company Semikron Danfoss following approval from the authorities. Together they want to pave the way to an energy-efficient future without CO2 emissions. Claus A. Petersen (left) is CEO of the new company. Karl-Heinz Gaubatz (pictured right) is stepping down from his position as CEO of Semikron to focus on his role as CTO and support the merger process until his scheduled retirement at the end of the year.

The owners of the newly formed company will remain the current owner families of Semikron and the Danfoss Group, with Danfoss becoming the majority owner. The two main locations in Flensburg and Nuremberg will remain in place. All global subsidiaries, production sites and sales channels will continue to operate as usual.
