Record number of foreign visitors
On April 5, Hannover Messe 2019 came to an end after five days - with an overall positive outcome according to organizer Deutsche Messe.
"Hannover Messe 2019 has shown that it is the most important international platform for all technologies related to the industrial transformation," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe. A total of 215,000 visitors took advantage of the industrial trade fair to find out about topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in industry and robotics, the potential of the new 5G generation of mobile communications in industrial applications, lightweight construction and the future of work in times of increasing digitalization.
Almost 40% of visitors came from abroad. Dr. Köckler commented: "This record figure underlines the international significance of the Hannover Messe and demonstrates the strength of Germany as an industrial location." The top visitor countries after Germany were China (7200), the Netherlands (5900), Italy (3400) and the USA (3400). There were 2600 visitors from the partner country Sweden.
