The Spiroplan gear units have been an integral part of SEW-Eurodrive 's gear unit portfolio for many years and have a wide range of applications in the low to medium torque range. The special gearing enables an economical gear unit design and is also a reliable and wear-free angular gear unit stage. The new W..29 and W..39 gearboxes enable a wide range of ratios thanks to their 2- or 3-stage design and at the same time offer a high degree of efficiency over the entire ratio range. With their torque range of up to 130 and 200 Nm respectively, they are suitable for many applications.

The new Spiroplan gearboxes

In the W..9 gearboxes, the Spiroplan gearing is located in the first stage with a relatively small transmission ratio. The second and - depending on the overall ratio - third gear stages are realized with spur gears. As a result, the overall efficiency of the gearbox is at a very high level, even with large overall ratios. In the three-stage version, overall ratios of i = 188.47 (W..29) or i = 210.49 (W..39) can be achieved. The motor power is specified by the company as 0.12 to 1.1 kW (W..29) or 0.12 to 1.5 kW (W..39).

This extends the existing advantages of the Spiroplan gearboxes by a high degree of efficiency and an even larger ratio range, thus creating additional application possibilities.

For connection to the customer application, the new W..9 gearboxes can be designed as a solid shaft with flange, as a slip-on version, with hollow shaft and feather key, hollow shaft and shrink disk as well as with the TorqLOC clamp connection. Motor mounting via the SEW flange interface enables combination with the extensive modular motor system from SEW-Eurodrive.

The gear units are characterized by an aluminium housing, which allows lightweight machine designs or saves weight in mobile applications.

The service concept has been improved so that only standard oils are used. The universal SEW interface enables the gearboxes to be combined with all of the company's motors, including the options, as well as the attachment of adapters for IEC or servo motors and covers with driving shafts. The familiar connection also allows customers to carry out service and maintenance themselves.
