Morten Wierod succeeds Björn Rosengren

Björn Rosengren will hand over the Group Executive Board of ABB to Morten Wierod on August 1 and will continue to support him until the end of 2024.

The Norwegian Morten Wierod will take over as CEO of ABB on August 1. The 52-year-old joined ABB in 1998 and has been a member of ABB's Executive Committee since 2019, currently as Head of the Electrification business unit and previously as Head of the Drive Technology business unit. Morten Wierod holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
It is not yet known who will take over Wierod's previous position as Head of the Electrification business area. A recruitment process will be initiated shortly, according to ABB.
