ABB has announced its figures for 2017: Stable order intake and a slight increase in sales characterize the Group's 'transition year'.

ABB's order intake fell by 3 % overall in the fourth quarter. Higher base orders (+9%) were unable to compensate for the decline (-17%) in major orders, which were down on the exceptionally strong prior-year quarter in the Power Grids and Industrial Automation divisions. Changes in the business portfolio in connection with the acquisition of B&R and the divestments made in 2017 had a positive effect of 2% on total order intake. ABB's sales in the fourth quarter were 1% lower than in the prior-year quarter, as the solid growth in the 'Robotics and Drives' division was offset by the decline in sales in the 'Power Grids' division.
