SPN Schwaben Präzision has developed a spur gear for a float drive in partnership with a customer in the mechanical engineering sector.
ABB Motion is launching two synchronous reluctance motors (SynRM) in efficiency class IE5 with liquid cooling and for hazardous areas. According to the supplier, the motors have up to 40 % lower energy losses compared to IE3 motors and 20 % lower losses compared to IE4 motors. The IE5-SynRM with liquid cooling and an output of 55 to 600 kW in sizes 200 to 315 are more compact than IE3 asynchronous motors with the same output.
The smaller size of the liquid-cooled SynRM simplifies integration when retrofitting and enables more compact machines. Another feature of the SynRM is its quiet running, which reduces noise levels in the workplace. The technology on which the motors are based significantly reduces heat generation in the rotor. Areas in which flammable gases and dusts can occur are areas of application for synchronous reluctance motors for potentially explosive atmospheres. The motors in sizes between 132 and 315 deliver between 5.5 and 315 kW.
