The VDMA has announced the figures for global machine sales. According to the figures, this fell by a nominal 1% to 2530 billion euros in 2016. Germany, on the other hand, saw a slight increase.

"The propensity to invest stagnated almost worldwide last year. In many countries around the world, the main drivers of gross domestic product were consumption and construction activity," summarizes VDMA Chief Economist Dr. Ralph Wiechers.
