Product picture galleryInnovations in drive technology
Without drive technology - in the truest sense of the word - nothing would turn in most machines and systems. Computer&AUTOMATION presents the latest innovations in this automation discipline in a series of pictures.

The IMS-A measuring system from Rexroth integrated into linear guides measures the absolute position of the axis with an accuracy of ±4 µm and reports it to the controller without the need for a reference run. The measuring system is insensitive to dirt, vibrations, shocks and magnetic interference fields and does not require any backup batteries during a power failure. Additional temperature and motion sensors are installed in preparation for future Industry 4.0 requirements. Thanks to the inductive measuring principle, the system is contactless and wear-free. The measuring scale cannot be disturbed or destroyed by external magnetic fields. The sensors and evaluation electronics are protected in a housing on the front of the carriage. The position resolution of the measuring system is up to 0.025 µm.
