Electrical engineers at Chemnitz University of Technology have succeeded in producing an electric motor entirely using a 3D printer. The process is intended to significantly increase the operating temperatures.

Johannes Rudolph monitors the 3D multi-material printing of an electrical machine in the laboratory, in which copper, ceramic and iron are used simultaneously in a printing process for the first time. The rotors can be seen on the left and the stator on the right.
