Mayr Antriebstechnik is presenting safety brakes and clutches for robotics and automation solutions, including for the first time the Roba-stop-M Eco brake, a lean and resource-saving solution for series production that is based on the 'Roba-stop-M' motor brake series, but reduces its popular features to the essentials. Another innovation is the Roba-linearstop electromagnetic linear brake, which can brake dynamically and offers short switching times.

The brakes work according to the fail-safe principle, they generate the braking force using compression springs and are closed when de-energized. The new series of electromagnetic Roba-linearstop brakes comprises six sizes with forces from 70 to 17,000 N. With the Roba-servostop series (Fig.), spring-applied brakes for servomotors have been developed that are specially adapted to the high requirements of robotics. The Roba-servostop Cobot series, for example, can be integrated into the hollow shaft designs of lightweight robots thanks to its design.
