Backlash-free power transmission
The 'E-Cyclo' gearbox series ECY from Sumitomo (SHI) Cyclo Drive combines the principles of a tension shaft gearbox with the technology of a cycloidal gearbox.
The devices are available in three sizes, each with three reduction ratios; the smallest of the series, the 'ECY103', measures 74 mm in outer diameter and 52.5 mm in length.
It weighs 0.9 kg and has an extended large hollow shaft diameter of 19 mm. All 'ECY' gearboxes have this enlarged hollow drive shaft diameter as it allows effective use of space between the hollow shaft wall and its cables, shafts and supply lines. The integrated bearing allows high output-side loads, offers backlash-free power transmission and high transmission accuracy with maximum rigidity. The compact series is specially designed for applications such as machine tools, positioners, handling robots and similar.
