Dekra labor market report 2018Mechanical and electrical engineers less in demand
Software developers and programmers were most in demand on the job market in spring. Demand for traditional engineering disciplines has fallen compared to the previous year. These are the findings of the Dekra Akademie's Labor Market Report'18.
Within the IT professions, the demand for software developers and IT consultants is particularly high. According to Dekra, both occupations are at the top of the rankings as never before. The latter have made it into the top 10 for the first time. IT consultants are benefiting from the fact that the optimization of processes through new technologies is currently at the top of companies' agendas and there is a high demand for consulting services. In addition, system administrators can also choose from significantly more job offers: A good one in ten IT job offers are aimed at them (2017: 6.9%).
