No chance for dirt, dust or liquids
The contactless 'EB360R' from Baumer is a multiturn encoder for mobile machines that works maintenance-free in harsh environments, making it suitable for construction vehicles, work platforms or agricultural machinery, for example.
The bearingless magnetic encoder from Baumer relies on a contactless scanning principle with a sensor and separate magnetic rotor. The angular position and the number of revolutions are determined without moving parts inside the sensor. The sensor unit is mechanically and thermally decoupled. Unlike classic rotary encoders, there is no shaft inside the encoder. The sensor electronics are completely encapsulated and do not allow liquids or dust to enter. Extra protection against shocks and vibrations is provided by the encapsulated electronics inside the corrosion-resistant plastic housing. The sensor has a housing height of only 22 mm when installed.
