GBS German Bionic Systems from Augsburg: The nominated product 'German Bionic Cray X' is an active exoskeleton that supports the physical work of humans. It combines human intelligence with machine power via intelligent mechatronics. The exoskeleton supports and amplifies the wearer's movements. The strength of the system can be adjusted individually and task-specifically with the help of a smartwatch. The associated cloud-based software is based on open source technology and open standards. The exoskeleton can be used to actively support physically demanding lifting activities and keep people with low or diminishing lifting capacity involved in the work process.
