Measuring 22 mm x 6 mm x 3 mm (LxWxH), the AKP18 is the smallest addition to Bogen Electronic's range of magnetic absolute encoders. Depending on the scale size, the encoder has a resolution of 18 to 20 bits and transmits data in SSI or BISS-C format. As a BISS series connection of a maximum of eight encoders reduces the cable feed requirement, the encoder is particularly suitable for small installation spaces. Thanks to its size, high resolution and accuracy of better than 15 µm, it opens up new design possibilities for robot designers. For rotational scales with a diameter of less than 13 mm, the resolution is 15 angular seconds, for 50 mm it is 5 angular seconds and for linear applications it is less than 1 µm. As a hollow shaft solution, there is space for cables and other components.
