Hydac Electronic is expanding its IO-Link portfolio, which includes sensors for pressure, temperature, level, humidity, oil ageing and oil contamination, and is introducing a 2-in-1 pressure sensor. The compact EDS 824 pressure sensor monitors the system pressure and the internal device temperature. In standard IO mode (SIO mode), the sensor works as a pressure switch with two freely configurable switching outputs to which either pressure or temperature can be assigned. In IO-Link mode (SDCI mode), the system pressure is provided cyclically and the device temperature a-cyclically on demand as an ISDU (Indexed Service Data Unit). The separate switching output can still be parameterized as required with pressure or temperature as the source variable.
