The non-contact Extreme IRt/c temperature sensor from Exergen delivers results between -45 °C and +650 °C, even under extreme ambient conditions. Vibration loads or drastic changes in the measuring conditions do not affect the sensor, according to the manufacturer. The sensor is equipped with a special housing that protects against vibrations and absorbs pressure fluctuations or sudden changes in measuring conditions. Apart from applications in the defense industry, the sensor is particularly suitable for applications in the semiconductor industry, for example, where there are always strong fluctuations in the measuring conditions. The sensor operates without auxiliary power and delivers an accuracy of 1 % in relation to the factory calibration. With response times of 100 ms, the drift-free sensor achieves a resolution of up to 0.00018 K down to thermal noise.
