There are a total of seven new models in the DataMan 150, 260 and 360 series of image-based stationary barcode readers from Cognex. They comply with protection class IP65. Equipped with the '1DMax' algorithm including 'Hotbars II' technology, the devices also read damaged or poorly printed 1-D barcodes quickly. 2DMax' and the patent-pending 'PowerGrid' technology ensure reliable reading of demanding 2D codes, including 2D codes without visible boundaries. Series illumination and optics are field replaceable. Setup and trigger buttons allow the readers to be set up and used without a PC. The models of the serial USB-based DataMan 150 series and the Ethernet-based DataMan 260 series can be arranged straight or at right angles. This flexible configuration eliminates the need for redesigning an installation or complicated optical mirroring. Enhancements to the DataMan 360 series include a light ring for a 360° visual read indicator and a micro SD card for backing up the system and restoring or replacing the device. The reader also offers three times the memory of its predecessor (DataMan 300) to cache more images for process analysis.
