Standards are very important in mechanical and plant engineering. The use of relevant security standards such as BSI baseline protection or IEC 62443 has also increased. On average, two out of five companies already apply one of these standards in their security activities. A lack of awareness is a particular obstacle to the use of standardized specifications, especially in smaller companies with fewer than 250 employees.
