Based on the "TOP 10 Threats for Industrial Control Systems" published by the German Federal Office for Information Security, the study participants assessed the risk to their own company:

As their greatest concern in the production environment is human error and sabotage, "organizational steps such as clearly defined regulations and training are the most important precautionary package to mention before investing in technology solutions on a large scale," Zimmermann emphasizes. For many participants, the assessment of the threat situation is not yet based on a well-founded risk analysis. Only just under 50% of survey participants have done so, giving them a clearer picture of the threat situation for their machinery and plant.
