Even though it is important to understand and implement the cross-reference between safety and security, mixing the two disciplines too much can also be counterproductive in certain respects - this was the message from Holger Laible from Siemens. In his presentation, he presented a generic approach as to how the much-discussed area of conflict can be resolved in a sensible and targeted manner in order to ultimately achieve efficient implementations for both security and safety.
