German industry is increasingly being targeted by criminals: This is the result of a study for which the digital association Bitkom surveyed 503 managing directors and security managers:

Data theft was one of the most common crimes. What data was stolen? Very often it was non-critical business information that the attackers presumably had little use for. However, 11% of companies reported the loss of critical business information, such as market analyses and pricing information. Employee data and intellectual property was lost by around 10% of the companies affected.
