Hanover Fair 2017Winner of the Hermes Award 2017
Schunk, manufacturer of gripper systems, has won the Hermes Award 2017. This was announced at the opening of the Hannover Messe 2017. The Federal Minister of Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, presented the industry prize, which is endowed with 100,000 euros.
Linz Center of Mechatronics (LCM) from Linz (Austria):
The company LCM has fully automated a sheet metal bending machine from the manufacturer Salvagnini. The material to be processed is automatically recognized and the design and production process is fully virtualized. A simulation model with various material properties and physical relationships for sheet metal processing was created for this purpose. The material properties required to calculate the production parameters and the influence of different material quality are determined by indirect pressure measurement on the workpiece during the process.
