Last year, the German robotics and automation industry posted record sales - this was announced by the VDMA at the beginning of June 2016. The association has now broken down its figures further at Automatica 2016.

In terms of sales, industrial image processing increased by 9% last year and generated sales of EUR 2 billion. In the VDMA's growth forecasts for the current year, this sub-sector of German robotics & automation is ahead of the rest: industry turnover is expected to increase by 8% to EUR 2.2 billion in 2016.
