Automatica 2016The winners of the Startup World Awards
The Oberpfaffenhofen Application Center has selected clever innovations from young industrial automation and service robotics companies at Automatica. These include a 3D ultrasonic sensor, a multi-axis scanner and a mobile robot case.

In the 'Service Robotics' category, the Oberpfaffenhofen Application Center awarded third place to the Danish start-up Blue Ocean Robotics. Their robot is designed to literally "nip the danger to patients in hospitals in the bud". The robot is mobile and can be used to disinfect patient rooms and bathrooms or operating theaters, for example. To do this, it uses recognized methods such as UV light and positions itself independently at neuralgic points such as washbasins or patient beds for targeted disinfection.
