The LCM100 linear conveyor module for robotic assembly from Yamaha Factory Automation Section, unlike conventional belt and roller conveyors, incorporates an independently controlled high-speed linear drive that enables bi-directional motion and programmable speeds of up to 3000 mm/s. The robust and stable carriages with a positioning accuracy of better than ±0.015 mm enable assembly work to be carried out directly on the transport module. Without the need to transfer workpieces from a conventional conveyor belt to a work table, cycle times can be shortened and assembly cells can become smaller and more cost-effective. The slide target positions can be reprogrammed via software without micro limit switches or end stops. In addition, the 'LCM100' modules are designed for easy interchangeability and quick reconfiguration, so that assembly cells can be set up cost-effectively, especially for small production quantities. The modules are available in standard lengths of 480 and 640 mm. They carry a maximum payload of 15 kg. A 400 mm long deflection module is also available.
