Kuka has chosen an outstanding concept in the field of human-machine collaboration: The 'CoAware' team convinced the jury with its demonstration in the fields of dynamic human modeling, image processing and interaction control for robots.

With their project, the team from Draper, MIT and the Agile Robotics Lab at Harvard wanted to prove that it is possible for robots to find their way around unstructured environments and perform tasks there. The team used neural networks to determine the positions and interaction dynamics of objects in the environment. This concept is demonstrated in a robotic system that can dispense ice cream to visitors.
