The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) has presented its new 'World Robotics Report 2018': According to this report, global sales of industrial robots achieved a 30% increase in 2017 compared to the previous year. The figures in detail.

Robot sales in Japan rose by 18% to around 46,000 units in 2017 - the second-highest figure ever achieved in Japan. Only in 2000 were more robots sold, at 47,000 units. Japan is the world's leading country in the production of industrial robots: Nippon's manufacturers supplied 56% of global deliveries in 2017. The export quota rose by 45% (from 2016 to 2017) - the target markets for Japanese manufacturers were North America, China, South Korea and Europe.
