In the course of Industry 4.0, remote control - i.e. remote access to machines and systems - and the topic of M2M communication in general are becoming increasingly important. The picture gallery shows a selection of current products in this area.
Beckhoff has developed the Industry 4.0 product Twincat Analytics. This tool allows all process-relevant data to be saved synchronously with the cycle. The data - stored in a standardized process data format with data compression - is available locally in the controller or as a cloud-based solution on a server in the company's own network or in a public cloud, depending on requirements. Twincat Analytics provides a complete time-based image of the process and production data, enabling a comprehensive status analysis of the machine, for example. The recorded process and production data can be evaluated online and offline or machine cycles can be examined for minimum, maximum and average cycle times, for example. Total running times and time differences between production processes can be determined using cycle counters or offline trace analyses. For predictive maintenance, for example, powerful condition monitoring can be implemented by recording operating hours counters, frequency analysis or RMS calculations. Limit value monitoring of various process data is also possible.
