A wide range of products for building automation, among other things, can be found at Light+Building 2018 - here is a small selection of what will be on show in Frankfurt am Main.
With the modular splice box FIMP-XP from eks Engel, active and passive components can be flexibly connected to the network. Over 20 different modules for fiber optic and twisted pair cables are available for this purpose, which can be combined as required. The splice box, which can be mounted on the top-hat rail, can be equipped with a maximum of four modules which, depending on the version, offer ports for SC Duplex, ST Duplex, LC Quattro, E2000 Compact, RJ45 and Sub-D9 connectors. Ports for other types are available on request. The modules can be removed for easy connection of the fiber optic and twisted pair cables. They can also be rotated by 180° for variable positioning. A feeder for two cables enables use in networks with ring or bus topology. The housings, which are made of powder-coated metal, are 135 mm high, 127 mm deep and 28 mm or 56 mm wide. Thanks to the robust design of the modules and a temperature range of -40 to +75 °C, the splice box can be installed inside and outside control cabinets.
