PTC's augmented reality (AR) solution, Vuforia Expert Capture, is designed to improve employee productivity, quality, safety and compliance.
It offers the opportunity to provide employees in the company with the relevant information they need to carry out their work quickly and accurately. The source for this are experienced employees in the company, whose knowledge and expertise in certain workflows and processes is recorded during their work and can thus be passed on in the form of tutorials. The experienced employees or solution area experts are equipped with a 'Microsoft Hololens' or the 'Head Mounted Tablet RealWear HMT-1' from RealWear and carry out their work - for example, the assembly of a component, the maintenance of a machine or the inspection of a finished product for quality assurance. Both images and speech are recorded. The recorded procedures can then be refined in a secure, SaaS-based environment by processing each individual sequence with text, image and video material and, if necessary, enriching it with additional information to aid understanding. The result is self-created tutorials for all possible work tasks and process steps, which are then dynamically made available to operational employees throughout the company on the head-mounted tablet, the Hololens and on mobile devices.
