Scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) have developed a mini-factory that enables them to produce personalized skin cream directly at the point of sale in a cost-effective way. It is already in use in three Douglas stores.

... the "Buy and produce" button, the mini factory produces the personalized skin cream. After around seven minutes, the product is ready and the jar containing 30 millilitres of personalized facial care can be taken away. "Depending on the frequency of use, the contents last for four to six weeks," says Balzer. After that, it is advisable to take another measurement to see how the skin condition has changed in the meantime and whether the product should be adjusted.
