Use data from other E-CAD systems

A new function in the Cabinet Engineering discipline of the Wscad suite is the construction of control cabinets with data from external E-CAD systems.

This is intended to make developers and designers independent of their suppliers' E-CAD systems. Clicking on the 'Import E-CAD material' button opens a dialog for importing terminal diagrams, material and connection lists that were previously exported from other E-CAD systems. Depending on the manufacturer of the external E-CAD system, the export takes place in the form of one or more Excel lists, for example. An import wizard in WSCAD queries the manufacturer of the source data, reads in the input lists and merges them into the format required by WSCAD. When importing the data, information such as manufacturer and function texts, BMKs, article data, values from motor lists or additional texts are transferred. To avoid redundancies within the WSCAD application, a comparison is made with the WSCAD database. Another new feature is the 3D representation of the control cabinet for a better spatial representation.
