The manufacturer Dassault Systemes presents the new version of its 3D design and engineering applications Solidworks 2016. According to the provider, new tools ensure an acceleration of development processes, reduction of time and effort for the creation of the desired geometry, increased flexibility in modeling and easier access to commands with the following tools. These include functions for creating smooth surfaces or curvature-continuous fillets and for creating complex discharge shapes as well as for automatically creating circular profiles in sections using bidirectional discharges in one or both directions. A thread wizard allows the modeling of standard and user-defined threads. More efficient analyses should also help to solve complex problems, identify and validate functionalities and avoid potential errors. For example with the Mate Controller: it can be used to create and animate complicated assembly movements using calculation, control and visualization tools.
